Expressive type workshop
Developments of expressive typography on paper before rendering on Illustrator.
DRAG - Created using the Helvetica font, i used the selection tool to simply drag and narrow down the font after i had created an outline.
Narrow - I liked this one. I used the direct selection tool to alter the length of the text and also moved each letter further in, just not quite touching.
Covered - Using the Futura font, i did a simple alteration to the c, using the direct selection tool to drag the shoulder so it connected to d.
YELL - Also using the Futura font for this word, i enlarged the letters in different stages to indicate a "yelling" effect.
Visualising type image
This was a visualisation workshop. The plane was originally a photograph i took from Google images, which i printed off and traced using the light box. I used the studio markers to highlight the shadows and the lighter and darker parts to the image before uploading it onto illustrator to digitalise it. I also used the same technique with the tiger.
Quick workshop on learning the basics of Illustrator. This workshop didn't really benefit me as i already had experience from my level 3 course, but it was useful to get my imagination flowing again after my time off.
